A Brief Update...

May was a fun and busy month! Katie turned "sweet 16" Elder 'AWS'ome turned twenty one and the family had fun four wheelin' for the Memorial holiday! School's out, we're all excited and looking forward to a fun and relaxing summer and wish the same for you!

And here's some of the latest from our Elder...

""...The work here is going slow, but that seems to genarally be the case when summer hits. No new investigators, just the one I mentioned a couple of weeks ago. But I am falling in love with the members here and I'm emailing from the Mannings today. He's from England and she's part Peruvian. They're teh coolest! Thanks for the latest update on the family. I was sad to hear about Uncle Hans passing and I'm sad that so many have passed while I've been out...but I'm doing okay. I'm glad to hear that Aunt Jan is doing better! And I'm glad you are getting things taken care of mom! I know you aren't thrilled about the machine but it will be good I think! I hope it helps you feel better!

Thanks so much for the birthday cards! Katie's was funny, I almost bought the same one for dad's birthday last year. My birthday was good, spent the day at church and had dinner at one of our investigators. Just low-key... I used the money you sent to get a new pair of jeans. My new pants haven't come yet but I hope they get here quick because mine are in bad shape!

Yes Mom, 29 days! I can hardly beleive it and I think the time will go very fast!! But I don't think I'll start packing till July haha! I am getting excited to see everyone! That will be great if we can see Lindsay and Kevin on the way home and it wll be good to see Aunt Jinny!

President Sanchez will be here on the 9th. He's visiting each zone before his release so I'll be able to talk to him then. He might still be here when you pick me up because the new mission Pres. is having some health issues so they are talking about extending President and Sister Sanchez for a couple of weeks. We'll see.

My companionship is a threesome right now and they call it a Zebra situation cause the third guy is Spanish. It's working out good. About the accident, one of our room mates was driving but wasn't at fault in the accident. It snowed that morning and the roads were bad. The other car hit the rear passenger side where I was sitting. My hip is bruised and sore but everyone else was fine. So no serious injuries and my bruises are fading. My hip is sore but getting better.

Gotta go, I can't wait to see everyone soon!

Love You, TTFN

Puppies

Time sure flies when you're having fun...or your busy...Ü
Our Newfie, Sophie, had pups two weeks ago and they are so adorable you can't help but fall in love with them! They are growing fast! Opening their eyes and trying to walk already. One more week and they'll start eating a little bit of soft food. If you're needing a little bit of unconditional love, come on over in a couple of weeks and love em up! Ü

Changes

"To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable." --Helen Keller

It's hard to believe that September is here and fall is on it's way. And once again we find ourselves facing change... The adventures of college life and high school through sophomore eyes...and the loss of a loved one. We said good-bye to Grandma this weekend. We will miss her twinkling eyes and contagious laugh and the love and joy she brought into our lives. How grateful we are for memories and the times that created them! Good-bye for now grandma!

We were talking the other day about the things we loved about fall. Here are a few things we came up with...
*The feel and smell of change in air...cool and crisp
*Fresh Peach Pie and Apple Crisp
*Changing Colors and falling leaves
*Football
*The Fairs
*The coming of the Holiday Season

We hope you all had an incredible summer and are looking forward to the fall as we are.

Happy Independance Day!

As Elder Sullivan would say..."Woot"!!! Ashton hit his hump day on July 2nd and we're all amazed at how fast this last year has gone by! And we're told the second year goes by even faster...
We at the Sullivan house are gearing up for YW Girls Camp. Harold will be a lone man as I am the director and all the girls will be with me...he says he'll miss us but I think he's secretly excited to have a break from a household of females! Ü

Today we are celebrating Independence Day...how blessed and privileged we are to live in this country! 232 years ago today, our forefathers signed the Declaration of Independence, declaring independence from England, since then millions of Americans have sacrificed their lives defending that freedom. We often think of these brave men and women at “the important holidays”, but they deserve to be remembered EVERY day of the year!

Today, I ask all of us to remember that freedom is not free, and we must continue to fight for the principles that those men signed for 232 years ago.

I’d like to Thank all of the troops currently serving, the troops on reserve, ready to go if needed, the veterans who have already served, and the families of all of these great Americans – especially those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives. We will NOT forget your sacrifices.

Let us never forget the people who have defended the principles of this Day and this Country.

God bless you all, and God bless America.

It's Raining, it's pouring...

I wish I had been counting how many days in a row we've had rain because I've it just keep coming down...however I'm not complaining, I have been loving this cool weather and the beautiful flowers and green grass it brings!

Congratulations Ivy! She graduated on June 4th and is excited to be attending UVU next fall! The girls are gearing up for lots of summer camps and our missionary is doing great! We are all excited and amazed that he hits his 1 year mark in the mission field in less than 20 days!

Life is Good!

It always seems that May brings more activity than we have time for! It was a fun and exciting weekend at our house and the rest of the week seems to be following suit...
The girls participated in the Temple Celebration as dancers...it turned out fabulous! Saturday followed with Ivy helping her friend in the Miss Draper pageant (her friend won) and spent the evening at Senior Dinner Dance. And Sunday she graduated from Seminary. This week has been full of end of school projects, concerts, benefits, dances, etc. and Thursday is the big day. Ivy graduates...bittersweet! Exciting to see them move on and sad to see them go...
Ashton has been transferred to Crestline, CA and is doing great! He has an investigator getting baptized on June 6th and is loving his new area and companion!
Katelyn and Jessica are looking forward to a fun-filled summer and new experiences!
Life is good! Happy Summer Everyone!
